Somatic IFS Sessions
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is the foundation of my approach, which I integrate with my training in Hakomi: Mindful Somatic Psychotherapy, to bring a body-centered focus to parts work.
Sessions are client-centered and led by your own curiosity: you define what you’d like for us to look at each session (it could be a trigger, a particular challenge or pattern you’re noticing in your life). Together, we’ll explore how your internal system of parts are organised around the topics, which you bring to sessions. I’ll guide you in uncovering the hidden stories your parts carry, noticing how they form alliances or come into conflict, and freeing them from the protective roles they’ve assumed, often since early in life.
We’ll build a trusting therapeutic relationship that respects your system’s unique needs, creating a space in which parts feel welcome to share their experiences openly.

How is the body incorporated?
I bring a particular focus to the story being told by the body during our sessions. I may gently bring your awareness to any sensations, habitual movements or impulses that naturally arise in you during our IFS work. By taking the time to bring our attention to the body’s experience, or by setting up mindful “explorations” together, we gain access to deeper insights and experiences of parts that go beyond what words alone can convey.
Disclaimer: Tori provides IFS counselling in a wider sense. She doesn’t assess, diagnose, or treat mental health disorders or complex trauma. If you are under psychiatric care, take medication or have a mental-health disorder and/or medical need, please seek an appropriate clinician in your country.

Originally from New Zealand, I’ve lived in Europe since 2016. I trained as an IFS Practitioner in 2021 with the Internal Family Systems (IFS) Institute. I’m especially passionate about the blend of IFS with somatic modalities such as Hakomi: Body-centered Psychology and Polyvagel Theory - to bring a body-centered, trauma-informed approach to parts work.
